Tucked away in the mountains, this little vineyard has a long standing tradition in wine production. The family has produced Mantonegro wines since the fifties. The modern winery was officially founded in 2000 and became one of the first organic vineyards in Mallorca. They still take care of these old vineyards and have added Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Viognier. Vineyards: 7 ha in Serra de Tramuntana facing South-West, 500 m asl. Average age: 45 years. Soil: Terra rossa (Call vermell) – red clay. Production: around 13 000 bottles. Organic certification. Es Verger also makes award winning olive oils and runs a restaurant serving a much esteemed Paletilla de Cordero – Shoulder of lamb, Mallorca's finest.

The mountain red. Powerful red, well structured. Great with roasts!

Grapes: Mantonegro (native), Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Alcohol: 14.5%. Sulphite: 60 mg/L.

Terroir: 7 ha in Serra de Tramuntana facing southwest, 500 m asl. Average age: 45 years. Soil: Terra rossa (Call vermell) – red clay.

Vinification: Temperature controlled, 25 to 28 degrees during fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for 20 days. Matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. No filtering. No cold stabilization.

Tasting and pairing: Garnet with with hints of ruby in colour. Strong aromas of red fruits and pepper. The palate is structured with good body. Long, clean aftertaste. Great with roasts and cheese.

Strong and mature. A hunter's companion. Multiple awards including International BioFach Nuremberg 2011 – Silver medal.
